I conduct research on learning analytics and educational data mining for Ceibal Foundation, a government institution created to provide guidance to Plan Ceibal, and other national and international educational actors, in aspects related to education and technology. Plan Ceibal is a national policy program that has been implemented over the last ten years in Uruguay. It provides a personal device (laptop or tablet) to all students in the K-12 public education system (over 85% of the children in the country), as well as internet connectivity to all public schools and a wide variety of online educational resources and platforms.
Before, I was a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Guillermo Sapiro's Lab at the ECE (Electrical and Computer Engineering Department) at Duke University.
I obtained my Phd in Signal and Image processing from Télécom ParisTech, France and in Electrical Engineering from Universidad de la República, Uruguay (joint Phd program) in 2014.
I did my Bs. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at Universidad de la República, Uruguay and a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics (MVA) at École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, France.
